X. 4384 - "GOSHAWK" 11. R.R. DESIGN OF STARTER MOTOR.

We are now issuing instructions to enable you to build R.R. Starter Motors suitable for fixing to the bottom half of the crankcase, and also suitable for taking the latest design of Bendix Drive.

Armature - Section 8000.

Please receive herewith one blue print of L.O.P.D.50616 together with one of each of the following new drawings:-

D.50613 Armature Shaft - 1 off.
D.50614 Stamping(thin) - 84 off.
D.50615 " (thick) - 2 off.
D.50616 Armature Arrangement.
D.50571 Retaining Nut - 1 off.
D.50572 Distance Piece - 1 off.

Bearing Brackets, Brush Holders and Cross Connections Section 8010.

Please receive herewith one blue print of L.O.P. D.50617 together with one of each of the following new drawings.

D.50462D.C. Bearing Bracket(Pinion end) 1 off.
D.50570 Cover for Ball Bearing 1 off.
D.50573 Motor Securing Plate 3 off.

It should be noted that the works are producing six sets of each of the above details for use with the motors which we are buying from C.A.V. and Lucas.

Frame and Field Winding - Section 8030.

There is no alteration to this section, therefore, the 'L.O.P.'s previously issued still hold good.

5 1/2 turns per coil - L.O.P. D.50273.
7 1/2 " " " - L.O.P. D.50097.

Commutator - Section 8020.

This section as you know is not settled, the question of an all Bakelite Commutator and a Bakelite and Mica Commutator has not yet been decided upon.
