contd:- -2- (7) My impression is that the foot rest and tool box as on No.4. is about right - one does not get a good box if made and used as in Mulliners - (No.6. Goshawk-11.) (8) Most of the ordinary tools should be carried under the front seat, in tray. (9) The drivers seats should be rather set up tight cushions as in No.4. - these are excellent with the exception of being hard to get in place (need refitting). (10) Instrument boardsare being re-arranged, a drawing of which has been sent. (11) The part of the windscreen that must be open during rain should be divided into two, as on some 40/50s I have had. This on No.6. Goshawk (Mulliner) is badly controlled when open (too much torsional elasticity - O.K. on No.4.) (12) There is no need in my experience for dashboard ventilator. If these are used they should have better fitting; they complicate and encumber the instrument board. Goshawk is not a hot engine compared with the 40/50, and pedals etc. are close fitting. (13) Wiring, lamps, valances, and mudguards should be at least as neatly and efficiently arranged as on No.4. Goshawk. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
