SPECIFICATION OF PEREGRINE 2. (REVISED)

GENERAL.
Engine 17.7 HP. Wheelbase 10ft. Dash to rear axle 88 ins.
Max. overall length of body 106 ins. Front track 56 ins.
Rear track 56 ins. Frame height at full load front
17.750 ins. rear 17.250.

ENGINE.
Bore 69 mm. stroke 105 mm. Capacity 2360 cc. R.A.C.
Rating 17.7 HP. In design the engine is to be scaled
down from J.3. with the exception that some of the
smaller units will be common to both. A complete
specification of the engine will be sent to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}

CLUTCH.
Scaled down edition of J.3. with the flexible torsion
coupling.

GEARBOX.
Scaled down edition of the J.3. Synchromesh Box; four
speeds and using the J.3. side levers. Gearbox and axle
ratios to follow from W.W.

PROPELLER SHAFT.
J.3. Mechanics joints and shaft.

REAR AXLE.
Scaled down from J.3. and having .650 of hypoid offset.
Axle ratios will be sent later. Brake drums 12 ins.
internal diam. and the same front and rear. Simple direct
operation by countershafts aft of the axle.

FRAME.
Deepest section 7 ins. and made of .128 ins steel cold
pressed.

SPRINGS.
Front. 35 ins. and 1.500 ins wide.
Rear. 50 ins. and 2.000 ins. wide.

PETROL TANK.
Scaled down from J.3. but to have J.3. filler and fittings.

BATTERY & BOX.
Suitable size of stock battery but using the J.3. metal
box. Suspension to follow the lines of J.3.

BRAKES.
R.R. Servo-Assisted, using the same equalisers as J.3.

WHEELS.
Rims 18ins x 4 ins. Tyres 5.5000 ins. Dunlop wheels
with double spokes.

RADIATOR.
Modern R.R. appearance, but with loose shell construction
following that of J.3. using the same cheapened shutter
slat and the same thermostat and non-spilling cap.

FRONT APRON.
Similar to that for the 25 HP.
