SPORTS CAR AND NEXT 10,000 MILES IN FRANCE.

CODED

It is agreed to make present chassis with all improvements except those dependent on the new crankchamber, so as to get the first few sports cars moving. To do this wants a new piston 3/8" longer - (LeC. drawing to follow.)

The crankchamber should be strengthened at once at the point where it cracked (see LeC. drawing to follow).

All the modifications possible to lighten and simplify the engine, clutch, and chassis, should be incorporated at once.

It is thought possible that the improved crank-chamber etc will be ready before any number (i.e. more than 10) of the sports cars are due for delivery, so that the above is only a very temporary measure to get a specimen sports car at the Riviera this season.

It is understood that Derby have cast iron cylinder block suitable for the existing original aluminium head. If not started I should go on with the dry liner block.

We are short of the autovac feed for continuous running at full throttle: we are looking into what can be done for this.

We are trying to design an expanding straight through carburetter.
