Brakes. (cont'd).

(4). Tipping shoes are to be retained, but forgings should be instructed in place of castings after the 1st. 100.

Propeller Shaft.

This is being held up by the C.O. after the first 25 chassis, and instructions should be issued to cover this. The C.O. will order a further quantity as required.

The parts affected by the following should be held up after the 1st. 100 sets :-

(1). We want threaded shackles at the front end of the rear spring.

(2). We expect to modify the flywheel either by reducing the inertia, or, by making the back plate flexible.

(3). We may want to use a semi-centrifugal clutch.

Will you please issue instructions to all concerned as soon as possible.

Will RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} and ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} please let us know the latest date for releasing the parts held up, in order not to interrupt production.
