X.3653 RE. FAILURE OF THE FIXING OF RADIATOR PLATES.

These have come loose whilst on test. We have also received complaints of this happening on cars delivered.
The trouble appears to be due to the variation in thickness of the leather packing used, and we suggest that a spring washer should be used in this bolt, apart from the present split pin.
It is essential that something must be done, as the fact of these bolts coming loose causes damage to the radiator tubes.
I should be glad if you will let me have a copy of any instructions which are issued giving recommendations as regards dealing with the present bolts, so that if possible this can be applied to cars now on test and already delivered.
