Valve Rockers.

The contact area of the rockers in contact with the valve stem shows that the area of contact has not been central, it has been more to the inner portion of the pad.

Bearings of the rockers show little wear.

Push Rods.

The spherical contacts show good bedding surface. The stems show slight signs of having rubbed at the point where they pass through the gasket. There are no bent rods.

Cast iron chilled tappets.

These show very little wear. The contact surfaces are in a good condition.

Camshaft & Bearings.

The cam surfaces are very good. There is no sign of any scoring marks. The bearings are in a good condition.

Gear Box.

HHC. has dismantled the gear box and is measuring up the wear of the various parts. Two of the end caps of the selector housing were forced out by oil being trapped when changing gear. The synchromesh mechanism was in good condition.

Transmission.

Considerable wear had taken place on the serration of the short drive from the gear box to the propeller shaft. Soft material and out of alignment appears to have been the cause.

Rear Axle.

Excessive slack developed in the drive. This slack is not between the pinion and the cross wheel, but has developed in the differential box. HHC. is measuring up the amount of wear that has taken place.
