In March last we received a communication from Messrs. Thos. Whittle & Sons Ltd., Warrington, requesting us to test out their new type Fan Belt. They pointed out that they had run one of these belts for 12 years on a 40/50-HP Chassis, and have now bought a new car from Messrs. Cockshoots of Manchester, to which a similar type of belt is being fitted.

I discussed this matter with you at the time, and you promised on receipt of a sample to carry out tests and report in due course. The sample belt is sent herewith.

Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}
