XW87 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KT. April 5th 1933. Mr.Skinner, The S.U. Company, East Works, Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, B'ham. Dear Mr.Skinner, We find that the 1 3/8" throttle diameter carburetters you have sent us are exactly the same size as those we are already running, referred to in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KT. of the 17th ult., on the small engine, we are therefore returning them to you. We apparently did not make it clear that we wanted a size smaller than this as the pistons definitely do not reach the top at full power. However we will not bother you further now, as we are getting quite good results with the 1 3/8", and we should be pleased if you would let us have 1/2 doz. No.6 needles for these carburetters. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
