Tests for Valve Lift Indicator.

We send you herewith a print of LeC.5435 of fittings to a top valve spring washer for a valve lift indicator.

We wish to try out this method of fixing the reed to the top valve spring washer before completing the design of the instrument, and find out if it is satisfactory and free from vibration troubles, and it has been decided to do the test on the Bentley as this is the most convenient engine.

We also send you herewith two prints of RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}392 of the detail drawing of the modified top washer which may be made in S/M instead of S/N as it will not run for long periods.

Will you please have these parts made and fitted up for test as soon as possible so that we can find out whether this method of attaching the reed will be suitable before completing the final design.
