To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 879601 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MJ.20.7.31. 58-GN. With reference to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}6/T.18.7.31. The most satisfactory way of confirming the alleged loss of performance on this car is to take a road wheel HP. curve on the dynamometer. We have had arguments with London about the maximum speed on cars before. If we show the standard HP. curve there can be no further argument. If the car is as much down in performance as the figures given suggest, we consider that the trouble is most likely to be in the carburetter and fuel supply system or in the ignition system. The direction of the wind on Brooklands track can make a difference in speed of between three and four miles per hour on the lap.
