SECRET X 750 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/HP.20.2.35. c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Marles Type Steering in Phantom. We attach a print of N.Sch.4378 which shews the sleeve for the rocker shaft bearings required to adapt this box to the Phantom chassis. It is an unfinished drawing intended to indicate what seems to be required. The position is as standard Phantom and this will cause the steering box to foul the intake pipe into the standard carburetter, necessitating the use of another carburetter. Alternatively it may be possible to move the steering box back from the standard position and so get clearance. It is necessary to order a right-hand worm and rocker shaft in place of the left-hand pieces now made for SpectreCodename for Phantom III.
