Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Phantom III 4 port cylinder head. We have now received the estimate for the four port cylinder head and induction system compared with the present standard six port, and this shows a saving in factory cost in favour of the former, of approximately £12. 5. 0d. We want it to be understood that this four port head and induction system is the proper and official scheme issued in September and October of 1935 for using the Stromberg double downdraught carburetter of the Phantom engine. What we have on the present production chassis is a hotpotch of two systems, onlu put on at the dictates of expediency, and as willmbe seen from recent experimental reports, it loses us some power.
