LUCAS P.100 HEADLAMPS.
Trouble has been experienced with the above headlamps due to :-
(a) The wire connecting up to the tripod holding the bulb, breaking off.
(b) Poor contact of the spring plunger on the tripod.
(c) Insufficient current capacity of centre contact plunger on bulb holder for 60 watt lamp bulbs.
(d) Dipping reflector fouling the fixed portion of the reflector secured to the hinged front. This causes the dipper fuse inside the lamp to meet.
(e) Electro-magnetic dipper unit breaking away due to fracture of the support bracket.
Modifications are available for remedying all the above troubles and customers who experience any of them should be advised to have their lamps returned to Messrs. Lucas for bringing up to date.
Up to date P.100 lamps will now incorporate :-
(1) Strengthened dipper unit support bracket.
(2) Extra clearance between fixed and movable portion of reflectors.
(3) R.R. Scheme of internal wiring including stronger plunger spring on tripod and larger centre contact for lamp bulb.
(4) 6 amps fuses.
