STANDARDISATION OF CHASSIS PARTS. (Note: 'OF CHASSIS' is struck through)

Description of Parts
40/50 Ignition Coil for Goshawk. Temporary measure pending perfection of Goshawk coil in bakelite case.

Origin. Partial failures of std. Goshawk ignition coils under extreme conditions of bonnet temperature with retarded spark due to imperfect dielectric qualities of the bakelite (Elo) coil cases. Failures have developed which demand an immediate remedy. The 40/50 coil is the only complete remedy available at the moment.

Experimental Test Report. Road Test Report. A special road report is considered unnecessary owing to the hundreds of thousands of miles which have been run satisfactorily with the 40/50 coils on 40/50 chassis.

See EFC1/T10.11.22 . attached.

THIS STANDARDISATION IS A VERY URGENT TEMPORARY MEASURE ONLY AND SHOULD BE SIGNED, IF AGREED TO, WITHOUT DELAY.
