Description: BONNET - PLUGS TO STOP SIDE HINGE PINS WORKING OUT.
Purpose: To prevent hinge pins fouling scuttle.
Brief Report and Remarks: Run 15,000 miles satisfactorily on 32-EX in France.
When recommended for Introduction: As soon as poss. without scrap.

Production Position and Comments:
Cost of Tools £: No tool cost.
The fitting of plugs provided to prevent the hinges working out would necessitate not only the Coachbuilders cutting the bonnet to length but the fitting of retaining taper pins. This may prove to be unsatisfactory in the hands of Coachbuilders and troubles may arise in transit due to the plugs being sent loose.
It is therefore recommended that instead of the above proposal the taper pin should be fitted in the hinge eye at the Works which would eliminate the necessity of Coachbuilders doing any work apart from cutting bonnet to length. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}23.11.37/
