-2- At the present moment the speedometer appear [strikethrough]to be reading accurately[/strikethrough], i.e. there is no J, optimum reading; a condition which is bad for the producer as well as the owner: it is depressing for both, and in any case this small optimum reading is desired with a view to the prevention of anything occurring to make the performance of the car appear unreasonably and inaccurately below what it is actually doing.
