22nd November, 1927.

Dear Sirs,

With further reference to your letter "EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T" of the 4th October, we have made full enquiry in the Works before giving you a definite answer to your enquiry whether any modifications have been made to the batteries which we are at present supplying to you as standard for your 20-HP and 40/50-HP chasses since June, 1925.

We have not altered our fundamental principles and do not anticipate any difference in the results obtained from the present batteries compared with those of 1925, as all our development in the meantime has been towards securing uniformity of results.

We understand that your records show a life of 6/7 years from our batteries. We do not know if you have yet found any which have exceeded 7 years.

We can state with every confidence that the present batteries are certainly not inferior to those of 1925, and equally certainly they are better inasmuch as they can be relied upon to give more uniform results. At the same time, we suggest, for your own satisfaction, that it might be desirable to institute a new series of tests early next year.

Yours faithfully,
THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY, LTD.
E C Mckinnon
Chief Engineer.
