We are now going to try Vim leather packings in the glands. Present packings are a very soft substance like soft paper.

We have an idea, based on nothing very much so far, that the hydraulics as compared with the friction type, promote pitching at high speeds on wavy roads, and make the car rough and chattery at low speeds on "washboard" dirt roads.

When Haldenby comes over perhaps you would give him samples of your latest stuff in the way of delay-action valves, gland packings, etc.

Yours very truly,

Maurice Olley
