X4229 RE "GOSHAWK II" - CAMSHAFT TIMING.

We attach herewith drawing Lec.1377 giving details of some indicating devices which will be required on the wheelcase. These arrangements are necessary to enable the assemblers correctly mesh the half time wheels. The markings on the wheels, the fan pulley, and the crankshaft, are required to be made in their correct position with relation to the top dead centre of No.1 crank, but the teeth on the gear wheels can be cut anywhere. This latter condition introduces a slight permissible error in the timing of the engine.
