x-180a HOTEL DE FRANCE CHATEAUROUX, Indre France. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/7/JAB. 27th October 1935. To. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From. G.W.H. B. 56. BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}- BENTLEY. We have got the Engine smooth without resorting to reducing the compression ratio. We have obtained this by reducing the thickness of the rubber blocks (top) under the rear Engine feet, and adjusting the buffer rubbers rear of Gearbox. There was no fouling of the Engine. Do you still wish us to try out the lower compression ratio? RE TYRES. I beg of you not to send any more Tyres for a time. Ive got twenty Bentley 5.50 x 18 and 6 x 18 to use up first. The small 6 x 16 Tyres hold the road very well, and we appreciate the extra acceleration, but we have not run any great mileage on them as yet. With these Tyres the Valves are bouncing at 98 MPH. --------- G.W.H. Hancock. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} | ||
