With reference to your CJ6/ E19.9.24.

The early magnetos fitted to post-war chassis were not all that could be desired. They suffered from the fact that nearly all the magneto work in England had been carried out on aero engine magnetos and that this same magneto when fitted to a car, would not satisfactorily fulfil the wide range of conditions.

The magnetos which we have been fitting to the cars during the last 2 years (approx.) are in our opinion as good and in some respects better than the Bosch Magnetos that were fitted to pre-war cars.

We recently fitted a Bosch Magneto at a customers special request. The Test Dept. reported that the magneto was distinctly more noisy than the present standard.

For 20 HP. and EAC., the standard Bosch Magneto would not fulfil the requirements for those engines as they demand a magneto with a wider range of advance than can be obtained on the Bosch machine.

The failure of the Sunbeam racing cars in this years' Grand Prix race in France was due to the break-down of the German Bosch Magnetos.

The advantage in the Bosch Magneto is the fact that spares can be obtained in nearly all countries, whereas,
