SECRET.

BONNETS - B.50 and B.3.

We attach hereto FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}181, FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}182 and FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}183 giving full information for detailing the bonnet of the Rover type for B.50. These schemes are very similar to and replace FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}155, FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}145 and FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}147 respectively, and which were drawn for the original B.50 radiator having a pronounced facial slope.

by BY/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} Details are in hand for the top plates etc.

The remaining outstanding item is the bonnet rest angle or valance strip which is in hand.

This bonnet is required for 1-B-50 and all subsequent B.50 cars.

It is proposed to use this bonnet on all B.3 cars in future, altered only in height to suit the B.3 radiator.

All parts will be interchangeable between the two chassis with the exception of the bonnet side plates. We suggest that these can be set out when detailing. Such a bonnet will be needed for 3-B-5 and subsequent B.3 cars, but not for 2-B-5 which has to have a bonnet of shape and construction following the design for 1-B-5 as the body has already been made on that assumption.
