To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BJ. H8260 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/25.11.26. RE. PHANTOM BONNET FASTENERS. X.7260 X.8260 We send herewith N.sch.2312 shewing a design of modified bonnet fastener for the Phantom to overcome troubles now experienced. The design is applicable to all Phantom and EAC.Vlll bonnets and we suggest that it should be used on the first EAC-Vll car. We are however engaged at this moment in entirely redesigning the Phantom and EAC-Vll bonnets using a different system of fastening. N.sch.2312 is intended to meet the present need. Mr. Royce wishes that a set of the fasteners to be fitted to his car (7.EX) whilst you have it in Derby during the next week. Would you kindly arrange to do this if possible.
