Specification revision for a Merlin II No.1 Unit, detailing new and replacement parts for the crankcase and crankshaft.

MERLIN II. No.1 UNIT.

Specification of the above Unit issued in RWC/VSC, 13.P.11.32. is revised as follows.-

PASSED TO TEST 1.2.33.

Crankcase & Bearings LOP.E.100678.

The following New parts fitted bringing Unit up to latest specification, incorporating:-
(1) LeC.3291 - Increased Capacity-Ribbed Lower Half. E.100F43 Crankcase (L.H.)
(2) LeC.3350 - Improved Crankcase Breather. Crankcase drilled to suit.
(3) LeC.3353 - Weir to raise Oil Level in Distributor Drive Housing, in connection with same. E.100123 Cross Shaft Bearing has the 4 Oil holes deleted.
(4) LeC.3285 - Front Engine Suspension. E.100944 Engine Suppn.Arms.

The following New replacement parts fitted:-
1 Set Main Bearings E.100F39/40/1/2 (Whitemetal)
E.100244 Tappet Rod.
E.100146 Front Cover.

Crankshaft LOP.E.100740.

Existing E.100643 Crankshaft 2.850 dia: Journals - 4.125 Stroke - V.C.M. fitted with Larger Balance Weights to Drawings Ls.PC5/6.
