[Handwritten] HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x235 [Typed] To Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from BJ. Copy to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to BT. {Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} Hydraulic Shock Dampers. As I am not quite clear on the following points, I should be obliged if you could give me full information. 1. The hydraulic shock damper has been tested. It has been put into production. It will be standard on our cars by a certain date. 2. Has the design been altered and, if so, to what extent and in what details since it was tested? 3. When can the hydraulic shock damper, as it will be supplied to the customer as standard, be tested on a heavy car on French roads, as I am anxious that it should be thoroughly tested before it reaches the customer. Can this be arranged and on what date can the heavy car start in France? It seems to me it would be a serious matter if, when we try this device in France on a heavy car, we find it is unsatisfactory and have to stop production and deliveries. BJ. | ||
