B.80.No.5. contd.

(a) Crankcase T.E.Cylinder EB.4670 AG. reported that this was at the operation milling.
(b) Crankshaft EB.4575 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} stated that he was anticipating this being available in a prox. 4 weeks.
(c) Crankshaft Damper to BCD.1246.
(d) Cylinder Head EB.4098.
(e) Camshaft Ex.33975.
(f) exhaust Valves Ex.33420.
(g) Induction Manifolds BCD.1298 details were received 19.4.39 and are instructed under code BE.3/2, necessitating new castings.
(h) Pistons EB.3916 Aerolite.

It was agreed that a tentative date for the completion of this unit would be the end of May. This unit is now allocated to.4.B.50.Chassis.

B.80.No.6.

This was also a new unit instructed in HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}1/BA.31.3.39 which is similar to B.80.No.5 with the following exceptions.

(a) EB.4512 Camshaft.
(b) EW.2121 Pistons - Aerolite.

This engine is to follow closely on the heels of B.80.No.5.

Bentley 80 Conventional.

We have now well in hand all the new patterns for this unit. Will Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} please say if he requires us to go ahead with the producing of any necessary jigs and tools that will be required for machining purposes; as it was pointed out that if this unit is required in a hurry, jigs and tools would be biggest hold up.
