Clutch spinning and acceleration. It was found that though in accelerating from 10 - 35 m.p.h. on 3rd. speed, the time taken was 3 secs. less than on direct drive, in accelerating from 10 - 60 m.p.h. using 3rd. speed and top, the gain was only 1 2/5 secs. due to the slow gear change necessary losing a considerable amount of time.
