TECALEMIT CHASSIS LUBRICATION PUMP.

We want to replace the Bijur-Luvax pump on our chassis by an automatically operated Tecalemit unit. When compared with the Bijur-Luvax system the Tecalemit system has the following advantages.

(1) The pump is cheaper than the Luvax pump, and it is thought that, even after providing the necessary drive, the whole installation should be cheaper than the Luvax system. The comparative estimated costs of the pump installations are shown below. There will be no appreciable difference in the cost of pipe lines and valves for the two systems.

Luvax Pump..£1.10.6d.
Tecalemit Pump............ 15/-
Flexible Drive............ 1/6
Die casting to house pump. 1/0
Flexible pipe for oil..... 10d.
Impulse coupling.......... 1/6

Total £1.10.6d.
Total £1.0.4d.

(2) The pump uses engine oil thus obviating the necessity for a separate reservoir.

(3) It is proposed to drive the pump from the gearbox by a flexible drive so that the pump will be entirely automatic in operation relieving the customer of trouble and ensuring the correct lubrication of all points.

(4) Owing to the small size of the plungers the pump can develop very large pressures when there is a restriction so that the risk of blockages is reduced to a minimum. This also permits the use of metering valves to split the feed where this is desirable.
