To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to EFC. X.4217 D E2/GSS/2/21.2.21 X.1369 RE "ESSEX" CAR. X.4217 We should be glad if you could obtain for us as soon as possible, a box of spare lamps for the Essex car. There should be two 6 volt head lamps, and two 3 volt bulbs of smaller size, suitable for the tail light, and the instrument board light. These two lamps are placed in series on the Essex with the object of providing a tell-tale for the rear light, and hence they are half the voltage of the battery. Should the instrument board light be smashed, the three volt rear light cannot be used. This is what has happened to us. We should be glad if you could add an extra three volt bulb as a replacement. All of the lamps are of the single pole variety. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
