Back Bumpers for Wide Frame 25/30 Cars.
Ds/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/H.27.5.38.

Are we to take it please that the scheme shown in your blue prints is the only one you can offer.

The coachbuilders and ourselves would have preferred an arrangement like that employed on Phantom III cars where tubular brackets pass through the lower part of the back end of the body.

Assuming that we must have the scheme shown in your blue prints it is thought that the extension arms will call for support from the coachwork to prevent dither.

You will bear in mind that not all bodies will overhang as much as 46.250".

We have ordered 100 Sim-light Shells with this overhang but the 75 Four-light Shells we have ordered will have an overhang of only 42" whilst we anticipate there may be some special bodies built with about 36/39" overhang.

With each of our 175 Standard Bodies we shall include a back bumper and the necessary extension arm and bracket in the complete car price, which will, of course, be fixed to cover the cost of the bumper, its parts and other accessories, but for special bodies the back bumper, brackets, and extension arms, if necessary, will be supplied as extras.
