Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}6.12.38.

B.60 & B.80 CRANKSHAFTS.

In view of the trouble we have experienced with the harmonic damper on the above unit will you please leave all the cranks which are at present unmachined, unmachined at the nose end, that is, forward of the front main journal.

The object of the above is to cater for our normal spring drive as used on Wraith etc. until such time as the harmonic damper with solid pinion is made satisfactory.

By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} is producing a scheme to adapt the spring drive.
