To <s>Wer</s> from ROY{Sir Henry Royce} (3) <s>c. to HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}</s> <s>c. to BY</s> c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ----------------- ROY{Sir Henry Royce}10/MG4.4.30 ----------------- In conversation with Mr. Oliver Lucas yesterday, he told me he was so convinced there was a big future for chassis details made in steel of the Staybrite variety that he was pushing ahead with completion of the necessary special Tools for production of their P.100 Lamp, i.e., the expensive type fitted in many cases to PHANTOM II, and proceeding with manufacture of 200 such Lamps in Staybrite Steel - also suitable Side and Tail Lamps, Rear Mirrors etc., in keeping therewith. He will let us know shortly when initial supplies will be available, and quote an actual figure, so that we can see what extra, <s>cost</s> if any, the use of such Staybrite Lamps would involve compared with our present standard. In the same way he will be proceeding shortly with Tools, and production of P.80 Lamps, also in Staybrite Steel, i.e., the smaller Lamp, as he feels convinced there is a big market for both types of Lamp not only on Rolls Royce Cars but on many others.
