Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} PN{Mr Northey} OY RG{Mr Rowledge} Expl. No. 4214 4580 REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG11.3.24. OBJECT OF TEST. To obtain data of Hispano engine. TESTER. A.{Mr Adams} C. Lovesey. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham. CONDITIONS. Engine run on Test Bench. SUMMARY OF TEST. The chief points of interest in connection with these tests are :- (1) High efficiency of engine. (2) Less range of ignition advance required than EAC. (3) Position of sparking plugs reduce detonation. (4) No definite periodic crankshaft vibration. (5) Valve gear noisy - camshaft drive noisy - piston knocks. (6) Carburetter control (suction type) very erratic. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 12 photostats attached. | ||
