As requested by you, we are returning the broken fan to you, marking it for you attention. It will be sent by the quickest route. We note, as per paragraph 3 of your memo, that you have changed the material of the centre part of the fan. Upon examination of the damaged parts, you will observe that the EB.1567 fan flange has fractured across the centre of the two lower rivet holes and that the E.56864 fan bracket (aluminium) has fractured where it is bored to take the two E.52115 bracket bushes. It appears to us that the bracket may be weak at this point. The fan spindle appears to be intact. We are fitting a new fan complete to the car. However, if you have anything new to offer, we think you had better arrange to have it sent along because, apart from material damage, should a similar accident happen in the future, we feel that the owner might "explode".
