To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c: to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c: to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c: to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL 'SS{S. Smith}' CHASSIS. X7770 X7250 We have completed the first SS{S. Smith}' chassis. We are all very pleased with its appearance. The radiator being lower in the frame and doing away with the diagonal stays on the front cross member gives it a much lower and neater appearance. The unit construction makes a much neater chassis. There are one or two items such as undershield and controls which we have got to complete, but we expect to bring the complete car to WW. at the end of next week. The second engine unit and gearbox is completed and will be running on the bed tomorrow. We also expect to have a bump chassis ready in about a weeks' time. When the car is brought to WW. it will have on it the latest type front axle and hubs. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
