Dear Hall,

I have been doing a bit of thinking about your proposition, and have been to see Vickers about it as well. I have also got your model down here and I think that there is quite a hope of affecting considerable improvements within the T.T. regulations.

I take it from our conversation that you would really like to arrive at two separate results (1) the best that can be done with the chassis within the limits of the T.T. regulations, and also being very careful of the limitations imposed by weight, steering and road-holding as they apply to this race, and (2) the best that can be done without major alterations to the chassis, except perhaps the radiator, within the limits of the A.I.A.C.R. regulations, but more with a view to the ultimate speed, even at the expense of a certain amount of weight and manoeuverability. In other words, the best condition for a circuit like Ards, Avus.

I think that the best thing to do would be to have two skeleton models made of the chassis on the lines I mentioned to you, each of which can be developed by plasticine to fulfil the conditions of (1) and (2) respectively. You would then have a permanent record of the results in each case. I further think, that the economy in time on the wind tunnel by having two models would offset the initial cost of the extra model. The approximate total cost of arriving at these conclusions would, I think, be
