Bentley - Propeller Shaft.

Will you please look into the question why the piece number for the pin in the trunnion front of the propeller shaft has been altered.

It used to be GB.907 and now is GB.2311.

We cannot find any difference in measurement and there is no difference in material, as far as the specification states. Until quite recently the Works have been sending this pin along with the trunnion front, stating that it had to be changed. Now they state the difference is so small that it is not necessary to change it. Please clear the matter up for me.

Also will you take up with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} the question of applying the Brinell test on the bearing surface of the pin, as it raises a lump on the surface, which is not good for the needle bearings. The correct place should be on the ends of the pin.
