In some ways the condition of the batteries on opening up was rather satisfactory, mainly in the fact that they were largely on the point of failing concurrently in the various ways in which they might be expected to fail, i.e. there was no obviously weak point which caused either battery to fail prematurely considerably in advance of failure through other cases. As previously reported we have also a number of batteries in which cells of various makes are sandwiched, but for the present and for some considerable time yet no comparative failure results from these intensive tests are expected.
