With reference to our conversation that you were unaware that Mr Royce had spoken in a derogatory manner on the use of Louvred Bonnets and for copies of his adverse criticisms, I give below some extracts from his memos. In M1R1/H181212 he said :- "Are the louvres a decided advantage, if "not do not fit them. They always look "ugly and let out noise." On 28/4/13 Mr Royce stated :- "No louvres but opening windows are my "recommendation." In R3/P21813 :- "My impression is that louvres should not "be fitted to English cars but only to "those for very hot climates." R9/P181013 in reference to fitting a louvred bonnet to a customers car :- "I have no objection but why not a shuttered "bonnet so that it can be closed in cold "weather."
