| -5- GENERAL. Vacuum Operated Change Speed. Parts have been received from America and we are considering the possibility of adapting them to a car. Petrol Fillers. The question of the filler in the wing is mainly one of body dimension. Under the latest proposals - as explained in DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 1/N.10.6.38., it is not possible to provide this feature. Free of Charge Work. We are making an effort to cut this down by putting up to the customer, charges we consider legitimate. (a) Cylinder re-bores. (b) Broken Axle Shafts. (c) Repairs consequent upon exceptional driving conditions. (Appleton). (d) Clutch replacements. Excessive wear and tear from car to car is not the result of variation in material or hardness condition, but purely due to driving conditions. From our own experience and the major portion of our customers, we know the Bentley stands up to hard driving, perfectly satisfactorily. The Company should not be expected to pay for what is (1) Fair wear and tear. (2) Bad handling of a car. | ||
