"R" SERIES MATERIAL.

Referring to my memo BY6-P25722, in connection with the material for "R" Series, I find I omitted to again remind you that we have a standardisation sheet which has been issued and which would be worked to unless suspended, by which the bonnet will not have shutters for the escape of hot air for use in hot countries.

I do not know whether you have obtained any further information on this subject since the standardisation sheet was sent round and signed, but you will remember the main issue was the rattling which the shutter set up. I am merely reminding you of this in case you should happen to want to reconsider the decision.

Possibly you might want the standardisation sheet to stand generally, but to consider Switzerland, India and Australia as exceptions which would have shutters fitted as a regular procedure.
