Test sent-out X7650 a.{Mr Adams} EFC/T9.7.26. X.7650. EAC. ACTUATOR BOX. X.7781. (VERSION 1) SPECIFICATION OF PRODUCTION INSPECTION, ADJUSTMENT & TEST. (1) Inspect the mechanical details of the actuator box to make sure that these are O.K. Confirm in particular that for any radial position the axial motion of the plunger is quite free. Confirm also that the travel of the plunger is .350"±10. (2) The terminals of the actuator box coil shall now be connected, via. an ammeter, to the terminals of a single cell of ample capacity, and the amperes taken by the coil at atmospheric temperature at 2 volts shall lie between the limits ___ and ___. (3) Now fix the actuator box with its axis vertical (plunger head downwards). Supply current to the coil (say from a 4-volt battery) through a variable resistance, and steadily increase this until the plunger is lifted. The amperes to effect this shall not exceed ___. If in excess of this amount, mechanical friction should be looked for. (4) Apply ___ volts to the coil for 5 minutes, during the last minute of which the plunger shall be capable of lifting from the 'out' (lower) position, a load of ___ ozs. in addition to its own weight. The current to effect this shall not exceed ___ amps. Contd. | ||
