R.R. 235c (10 T.) (S.H. 988. 22/2/21.) Bm. 598878. X3421 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY2-P6.9.21. BONNET RATTLES. Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn6/H17821 and EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn12/H5921, with reference to Mr Feats complaint about the bonnet rattles, we took it that you were aware of the change of policy adopted as standard, namely, in deleting the doors on the bonnet. This will have actually been in production already, except for the fact that we had a large number of bonnet sides with the ventilating doors blanked out. In regard to rattles, this will, of course, overcome Mr Feats troubles, but as to whether the bonnet without doors will be suitable for Australia and India, this is possibly a doubtful point in view of recent complaints in regard to water boiling on mountain passes in Switzerland. Anyway our policy is clearly defined, as a standardisation sheet has been signed for deleting the doors in the bonnet. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
