Report of Accident to B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Bentley.

This car was collected at Park Wards on Wednesday 23.12.36. at 5-30 p.m. by F.{Mr Friese} Dodd and myself. F.{Mr Friese} Dodd drove the car as far as Towcester, we then changed over.

The road condition had been foggy as far as St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Albans, but was clear afterwards.

There was no indication of ice on the road as far as Weedon where we forked right for Derby, at the third bend in the road, "right hand" we struck a patch of ice, the car skidded broadside and the near side rear wheel struck a telegraph pole, the car then skidded round and finished up in the opposite direction. The speed approaching the bend was approximately 40 M.P.H., the brakes were not applied, but owing to the front wheel skid the car was uncontrolable, and all efforts to correct the skid were of no avail.

Beyond a slight cut on the nose from flying glass to F.Dodd, no other personal injuries were sustained.

The car was towed and left at

Clarke Bros.
The Garage.
Weedon.
Northants.

The impact was taken at the N.S.R. wheel arch and the damage centred in this quarter.

The full amount of damage will be ascertained later.
