I understand that the handle came off the tyre pump. As the result, Mr. Goulding's sister and another lady had to sleep in an innkeeper's bed, whilst Mr. Goulding and his friends sat on chairs in the inn parlour all night. I cannot imagine that it should not have been possible to make a temporary repair of the pump if it was simply a question of the handle coming off. What happened to the magneto ? Is it true that there were no security bolts in the tyres? If so, why ? C.J.
