Running at 80 Octane Fuel.

Gentlemen,

I am directed to state that in anticipation of the improvement shortly to be introduced in Service fuel, all tests of Goshawk, Griffon and Merlin engines are to be carried out with a fuel having an octane value of 80 at 150°C. jacket temperature on the Ethyl Series 30 engine.

2. Will you also carry out rating test on the Kestrel engines Series IB, IIS and IIM.S. at the proposed normal speed of 2,500 r.p.m. with the new fuel.
