17th November 1938.
Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman.
EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.
Further to our letter of the 14th instant, reference HC.FH.11.
We have discussed this matter very thoroughly with our Works, and regret to find that it is not possible to make up a 3" bore Hose using the exact construction which is employed in the manufacture of the small bore Dust Extractor, sample of which we sent to you with our previous letter.
We have however obtained from our Works alternate types of Hose which have been made up in a very light construction, either of which we consider would be suitable for your purpose. One sample is internally wired, and the second sample has an imbedded wire. Either type could be supplied in lengths up to 60ft, at 1/- per ft. less our usual settlement terms, 3 1/3% cash within 7 days or 2 1/2% monthly account.
For the three sample 4 - ft lengths which you require for experimental purposes we suggest invoicing at a nominal value of 1/4d per ft. The samples are being sent along to you under separate cover.
Yours faithfully,
FOR DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD.
