Dear Mr. Gayford,

How are you? I fear you have been having a trying time lately.

You may remember we had a chat about the possibility of producing a cheaper car after the war.

Supposing we built a 10 H.P. at a reasonable figure, which would have the characteristics of the Rolls-Royce, its durability, reliability, etc., should we go for a 2-door or a 4-door saloon?

Your observations from a sales point of view would be most helpful. Personally I feel that the 2-door is for the man who can only just afford a motor car at all.

If you have time to drop me a line I shall be most grateful.

Please remember me to "Stumpy" and hoping to see you before this time next year!

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
