X.1589. METAL RECTIFIER EQUIPMENT FOR ELECTRO PLATING PURPOSES.

I would like to draw your attention to the possibility for electro plating purposes of utilising combined transformer and metal rectifier equipment. Such equipment is especially suitable for the rectification of relatively large currents at low voltages, and some very big electro plating equipments on these lines have been and are being made. You could no doubt obtain any data and particulars which you considered of interest in this connection from the Westinghouse Brake & Saxby Signal Co. 82 York Rd. Kings Cross, London N.1.

The overall efficiency of the apparatus would be at least equal to that of motor generator sets of similar capacity. You would find a 60% efficiency at least would be claimed between the effective plating output and the alternating current as metered.
